VIDEO: Dr. Berger - Is There A Link Between Stress And Acne?

September 30, 2008 - 1:48pm 476 reads comments

Dr. Berger explains how stress relates to and acne.

Dr. Berger:
Patients have for years reported that their acne got worse, you know, around stressful events, but only recently very carefully controlled studies have been done. These studies have all been in college students where they can take times of low stress and times of high stress and they in parallel counted the patient’s acne lesions and had them fill out questionnaires that can actually measure their stress and there is a very close association between the severity of the acne and the amount of stress. So, episodes of stress create flares in acne.
