Adult Acne Cause and solution needed

ASKED by SathiyaPriya on July 2, 2008 - 5:32pm

Hi,

I am Sathiya of age 24, single. I have adult acne problem. My skin is oily skin and I am getting depressed because of adult acne. I also have scale formation in my scalp. If my adult acne got cured, scales will come, and vice versa. I have used many creams. But no solution.

I have a doubt whether I have harmones problem. I am getting regular periods. Is there any possibility to test my body harmones and get cured?
If it is harmone problem, Will yoga or exercise be the solution for that?

Please help me to get out of my depression.

Regards,
Sathiya Priya M

Blue Light Therapy Helps Treat Acne

Written by Michele Blacksberg on September 16, 2009 - 9:22am

Acne isn’t fun at any age. I remember dabbing skin tinted Clearasil all over my face to cover newly sprouted pimples. My brother used a sun lamp to help clear up his skin (as if living in Southern California didn’t expose us to enough UV rays.)

Battling Acne: A Menu of Options for Mild to Severe Cases

Written by Cathy Enns on September 1, 2009 - 7:58pm

If you suffer from acne, you probably know it’s one of the most common of all skin conditions. According to researchers at Johns Hopkins Evidence-based Practice Center who developed a report for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services a few years ago, as many as 45 million people in the U.S. have acne. What’s more, the Johns Hopkins investigators reported that 85% of the population between the ages 15-24 has acne to at least some extent.

Adult Acne: Shouldn’t This Have Ended Years Ago?

Written by Dr. Carrie Jones on January 27, 2009 - 9:47am

Would someone please tell our skin that puberty is over? It ended years ago, and still we are dealing with the aftermath. Why do adult women have the kind of acne we experienced as teenagers? The large, inflamed, all over your face type that blisters up out of nowhere and manages to come the morning of a large, important event…and stay for days.

Adult onset Acne

ASKED by Susan Cody on February 17, 2008 - 7:24am

I am wondering if anyone has been afflicted with acne as an adult?

I skated through my teen years with a few bouts of acne here or there but nothing dreadful.

Cindy

Is this a skin condition, or more?

ASKED by Cindy on November 2, 2008 - 4:23pm

I have a male friend who happens to be gay. I pose this question, in this way, for two purposes. First, I became aware of his lifestyle and second was concerned with physical appearances that I noticed. The gentleman has several (what looks like blackheads) on his face, mainly in the high cheek area. Recently, I noticed there are now several large (what I would call zits) that have appeared on the back of his neck. Please keep in mind, this is an older gentleman and by no means in puberty age, more relevant to retirement age.
