VIDEO: Dr. Lebovic - How Common Is Oncoplastic Surgery?

August 28, 2008 - 10:25am 441 reads comments

Dr. Lebovic explains how common oncoplastic surgery is.

Dr. Lebovic:
For me, I’ve been doing it for the last 17 years because it just made sense as a woman surgeon that if you needed to have surgery on the breast you wanted that to look good. So, knowing that I went out and during my training got extra training, couple of extra years to try and learn how to do those techniques. We’re not taught that in the standard surgical training. So, now, 17 years later, surgeons are beginning to realize that this is very important to the women that they’re treating and so, it’s becoming very popular and the surgeons around the country are beginning to learn these new techniques.
