Dr. Lebovic:
I am Dr. Gail Lebovic, I am an oncoplastic surgeon and have specialized in breast healthcare for almost 20 years. I’m director of Women’s Health Services for the Cooper Clinic here in Dallas and McKinney, Texas.
Oncoplastic surgery is a new subspecialty of surgery. It’s very pertinent to women who have breast issues that require surgery such as cancer and what it is, is the combination of sort of plastic and reconstructive techniques or aesthetics, the way the breast looks, and cancer surgery. So, even though when we’re taking care of the cancer primarily, we want to make sure that it looks as best as it can be.
