Dr. Shaw:
The upper eyelid lift, or upper blepharoplasty, is excision of excess skin and fat from the upper eyelids. The fat resides in three compartments – the inner or medial compartment, the mid compartment and the lateral compartment, and by removing the excess fat and skin could lead to much more youthful and bright look.

The incisions for the upper eyelid surgery is approximately one centimeter above the lashes, extends out slightly and the excess skin is removed from the upper lid in this fashion and excess fat is removed from these pockets. So the resultant scar is just a very faint, barely visible scar of the upper eyelid. The lower eyelid incision is also one that just extends right on to the lash line and extends out slightly, whether it’s done through the external technique or the transconjunctival technique.
