Make it a Healthy Day

February 21, 2009 - 8:00am 217 reads 0 comments

The sun is streaming in my office window this morning. My dog and cats are lying in the brightest spots they can find. It just feels good. It is the perfect time to set myself up for a healthy day. Healthy days are good days, especially in the world of cancer. They great thing is that they feed off each other.
Being healthy is a decision that is made a hundred times a day. I can set myself up for success with a little planning. I can figure out meals for the day, pencil in a little quiet time and exercise, and achieve a positive state of mind to carry me through.
I believe that it is the little things that make a difference to my health, especially over time. It sets us up for success and gets our mind working in a positive manner. I celebrate those little things that I do, no matter how small. Even ordering an iced tea instead of a pop (soda to everyone but us Michiganders) is a small choice that is good for me.
If you are fighting cancer you can make a difference today. So take a minute and think about your day. What can you do to set yourself up for success?
