Diabetes Risk Test

The American Diabetes Association has two great interactive tools for determining one's risk for diabetes.
The first is the Diabetes Risk Test and can be found here.
The second is what they call Diabetes PhD.
These are valuable tools because according to the ADA's Web site, about 20.8 million children and adults in the US have diabetes -- and nearly one-third of them (or 6.2 million people) don't know they have it.
I found out that I was at low risk for diabetes. Give it a try yourself and share your results.

I, too, was told by my doctor that I'm a borderline diabetic. My first reaction was: whatever that means. I had to take a good, hard look at what I was eating, because it certainly wasn't for lack of exercise (I'm a marathon runner).
It seems like I'm always trying to follow contradicting plans, as one doctor tells me I have one condition and another tells me that I have something else, too. One said I was underweight, so I followed a plan to gain weight. Now that I'm overweight and have high cholesterol, I've found that the first plan is what got me there - and it was healthful!
Does anyone ever feel as though you can't win for losing?
1! So very low. I think my only indicators of risk were having my big fat babies!
for type II diabetes because my father had it. So far, so good; my glucose levels have never been abnormal. I had enormous babies and my dr. was sure I had developed gestational diabetes after they tested me, but even with finger pricks at every office visit my glucose levels never came back abnormal. I've been trying to increase my activity level and improve my diet now because I know that risk for these things increases as one gets over 35!
Oh, and I scored a 2 on the test since I had a parent with diabetes and I had huge babies!
