I'm a 19 almost 20 year old woman, and lately I've noticed my desire for sex has almost completed disappeared. I'm in a very committed relationship with an incredible man who I'm madly in love with, but for some reason I'm just not interested in actually having sex much anymore. When we first started dating 2 years ago, we never stopped having sex and when we do have sex, it's amazing and I enjoy every second of it so I'm really confused. My fiance is really supportive about it but I don't want him to think I'm not attracted to him anymore. Can anyone shed some light? :(

Hello Anonymous,
I would like to welcome you to the EmpowHER community. I am happy to hear that despite your low libido, you are in a loving relationship. You are blessed with a fiance who is so loving and supportive.
According to an article on abcNEWS, there is an increasing number of young women who have lost their sexual desire. Some contributing factors are stress, depression and bad relationships. Birth control pills that contain estrogen and progesterone or antidepressants like SSRIs can be culprits.
Hypoactive sexual desire disorder or HSDD is a real diagnosis.

Well I have been through a few very stressful things and I do have depression which I am being medicated for. I guess once life is a little easier I might be relaxed enough to want sex again. Thank you for your comment :)
