Can Dry humping lead to pregnancy?

Hi, hope your well. Just last month (June 4th) i was sexually abused. The person tried to remove my clothing but this failed but some how this lead to 'dry humping'. He was also fully clothe (believe he was in a suit, don't know about whether boxers or underwear). I had a long dress on, leggings (no underwear at the time due to there being a pimple on the surface of my lower abdomen). I'm just concerned whether this event could lead to pregnancy. I cannot precisely remember where he was humping but it was either on my lower abdomen or just below (There was no penetration). My period are really irregular and i've been prescribed with Microgynon 30 to make them regular. I only take the pill sometimes because i'm not sexually active and it's not something i don't have to worry about pregnancy. However, i started to take them out of fear and my period did come but was extremely light. I thought this could be down to stress and i'll just wait for my next period. I started to take the pills again but again i had a light period (the blood was red, occasional clots but at both times they were light enough to wipe with tissue). I had suspicions on the first occasion of it being implantation bleeding because it just didn't feel like my normal menstruation flow. I took multiple pregnancy tests (all negative) but of course i feel like i cannot go by these due to my cycle being so irregular. I have no pregnancy symptoms apart from frequent urination which i was told by the nurse and doctor that i had an infection and also occasional sharp electrical pains just above my breasts which i don't know if its linked with anxiety. I just need to know the chances of being pregnant in this situation to calm my nerves because i feel like i'm wasting so much time on pregnancy tests and when can i take a pregnancy test with such irregular cycles but right now i take 2 tests daily (one in the morning and one before i sleep) which is costing me ALOT. Your reply will mean ALOT to me. Thanks in advance :)

hi, just wanted to thank you for advising me to seek therapeutic help. Really is helping!

I just had a question in regards to periods. I basically just started my periods. Prior to this i had a white substance (dry) Resembled alot like small pieces of tissue but wasn't because when i squeezed it with a tissue it turned into like a mucus. I started to think its a yeast infection until i started to bleed today and substance has gone. I'm just wondering if this is normal just before a period and whether this is my period? I never noticed this in my previously (maybe because i didn't pay attention)

I apologise if this question is abit silly!

Regards
Sara

i apologise for raising this issue again. I just have a couple more questions which i am doubtful of.

1) what if the clothing had tiny pores and i was wet and he came (my leggings were kinda wet but i have no idea if he came or ejaculated). I ask this is because i understand that sperm are microscopic cells and possibly can pass through the holes. Preceding the event i have been urinating frequently and have white specks in my urine (also sharp pains in breasts)- i have no idea if this is all interlinked with pregnancy
2) i mentioned in my previous post that i had my period (thats what i think it is because it was really light) with the help of Microgynon 30 to make my period regular. The bleeding happened on both occasions but i am still taking urine tests to make sure. If i had a regular cycle then my next period would be due on August 10? Do you think i should not take the pill this month and do another test during that period? OR when is the best time to do a home pregnancy test with irregular cycles (the NHS site says 19 days/21 days) which have both passed and is coming up to 2 months. Surely i feel that my body cant be that messed up to not pick up the HCG hormone but then i read about these stories online where some women got continuous negatives up till 5 months+ and i don't understand how people cannot know till then. Do you think i should take a blood sample and ultra sound instead or is there no risk of pregnancy at all?

i feel like i am probably reading too much into this but i just have the 'what if' questions...

ps. Thank-you for all your support. I have reached out to a therapist through e-mail and am just waiting for a response. Just talking to someone about the situation feels like a huge burden off my shoulders. I really do appreciate your support

Hello Sara,

Sperm cannot pass through fabric.

Excessive stress causes the body to produce excessive amounts of cortisol. This results in changes in the menstrual cycle, specifically a delay or missed period.

Consult your gynecologist. If you were prescribed Microgynon to regulate your menstrual cycle, you must take the pill as directed.

I understand how upsetting all of this has been, but you are overthinking the potential for pregnancy, of which there was none.

Please seek the help of a therapist or psychologist, face to face therapy session and not over the internet.

Regards,
Maryann

Hello Sara,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern.

There was no risk for becoming pregnant. Sperm cannot travel through fabric.

I am concerned about how you are handling this attack emotionally. Please be alert to lingering signs of anxiety and stress, such as nightmares and panic attacks. Seek counseling if needed.

Please take the prescribed Microgynon. Taking it sporadically will not correct the problem that is causing your irregular menstrual cycles.

We are here to support you,
Maryann

Thank-you Maryann for such a quick response. I tried looking through some of the comments people were writing but none seemed to match my situation. At the time i was more concerned about my life and pregnancy didn't even cross my mind. I discovered my leggings were wet don't know if it was from him or from my own bodily fluid. Can anything pass through if he was covered too?

I am trying to find a good therapist but i feel like its so hard because i feel like i cannot talk to my family about what happened because of fear what may happened. I told them that i need to go to victim support but they assumed that it was for volunteering because its something that i wanted to do alongside my university degree but they're totally against me going into that field. Therefore, i decided to seek counselling online with a site called '7 cups of tea' and become a listener to ease my nerves. My friend just gave me a number for a therapist who i am going to contact first thing tomorrow.

At first i did stop eating due to stress. My family thought had suspicions something was up or that i wanted to lose weight but i just had a loss of appetite. Right now i am eating but its very little because sub conscienceless i keep thinking about the event and thinking about the possibility of pregnancy.

I just have one more question that crossed my head when i sent my previous message: 'what can cause a light period? Can stress cause this or the Microgynon?

Thanks once again. This definitely calmed my nerves a little.

Hello Sara,

Glad that I could offer even a bit of help. Please consider counseling with a therapist or psychologist. It will make a world of difference. No need to share this with any one else until you feel ready.

To put your mind at ease, no semen containing sperm could have passed through his clothing. No risk for pregnancy at all.

Taking Microgynon usually results in lighter, less painful and more regular menstrual bleeding.

Maryann
