I have a quick question...
I missed 3 active pills, 3 days in a row on the third week of my birthcontrol pack (days 14-21) on the third day of missing my pills i had sex twice while completely unaware that i had missed pills (somehow)! 5 days after i had sex i started my period...could i still end up pregnant?...

Hello Anonymous,

Having vaginal bleeding proved you did not become pregnant.

This is not true. You can still bleed while you're pregnant.

Hello Anonymous,

According to the American Pregnancy Association," Pregnant women can have some light irregular bleeding during pregnancy, but it should not be like a “normal” period. Some women can confuse this for their period because often it can come right around the time she was expecting her normal period.

The irregular bleeding or spotting that can occur during pregnancy is often a dark brown or a light pinkish color. It should not be enough bleeding to fill pads or tampons over a few days. If you are bleeding enough to fill pads and tampons, then this would be a good indication that you are probably not pregnant."

So I have a question....
I am on the 3rd week of the 28 pack. I had sex on Tuesday (6/28/16) and I took my pill. I missed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and I didn't make up for the missed pills. So I woke up with heavy bleeding on Saturday and then took the last active pill even though I am still heavy bleeding. What do I do? Should I be worried with pregnancy? Should I continue on with the placebo week? Or start with a new pack?

Hello! I have a question, what is my risk of pregnancy? I took my last pill on the 23rd (last pill of the pack - brown ones) && I just got the new pack on Friday the 29th, my hubby && I had sex today (ejaculated) && according to my period tracker, my ovulation day is tomorrow

Hello Anonymous,

Oral contraceptives protect a woman from an unwanted pregnancy be preventing ovulation. Vaginal bleeding during the inactive or placebo week is withdrawal bleeding.

Have you taken a pill at the same time each day beginning with Friday?

If so, then you have been protected, would not be ovulating and not at risk of becoming pregnant.

Regards,
Maryann

Hi Maryann, yes I've been taking them at the same time since Friday. I just thought I would of have to wait at least 7 days for it to kick in since it was almost a week without them
