chances of being pregnant?

I went out with friends for a birthday celebration, got home late and didn't take my birth control pill (Day 6 of week 2). Woke up the next morning and took it but threw up shortly after. I did not replace it with another pill. I took my regular pill later than night and continued with my pill for the remainder of the pack. I regularly have unprotected sex with my husband. I got a lighter than normal period on week 4. I am supposed to get my period again soon and usually have signs of it coming by now and I do not. What are the chances I am pregnant??

Guide

Hi Anon,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.

There is a chance that you could be pregnant, but the likely is minimal.  The incident of pill failure causing pregnancy in roughly causes 1-2 % (1-2 pregnancies out of 100).

The chances increase if you miss a pill in your 1st or 3rd week of the pack.  Your missed pill was day 6 of week 2 so again, your chances of being pregnant are very low.

I hope this helps.

Be well,
