Could I be pregnant?

I am currently sexually active and have been very good with my birth control until this week!! Last Monday morning (July 25th) I had unprotected sex and took the day after pill Thursday (July 28th). Had unprotected sex again Friday (July 29th). Today is Tuesday, is it too late to prevent a possibly pregnancy?! would the first dose prevent the second unprotected sex time (only 9 hours difference)? Is it safe to get another dose? would that hurt the fetus?~I have been feeling very nauseous do the the hormones in the first pill!
Please help,
thanks in advance.

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern.

An emergency contraceptive prevents pregnancy by preventing ovulation. There is no need to take a second dose. As long as you took the pill before ovulation occurred, you should be protected both times.

Nausea could just be a side effect of the pill.

If you do not get your next period or do not have any vaginal bleeding within three weeks of taking the pill, test for pregnancy.

Regards,
Maryann
