Has anyone had severe low back pain after seasonal flu shot?

I took a mandatory flu shot at work Oct. 19, 2009 on my left arm. I had chills and a fever of 102* along with left arm aching pain, and a bout of severe low back pain within the first 2 weeks after receiving the shot. All other symptoms have since dissipated except for the severe low back pain and a strange wobbliness in my legs. The low back pain is bad enough to where I could not move by myself for a week, and now cannot really sit or bend without a high degree of constant pain.

I got a flu shot at my local pharmacy @ 3pm on January 12th and within' 45 minutes noticed my lower back felt a little weak or fatigued. Later that night was having some pain getting out of a chair. Now I have major tight lower back pain. It takes me 2 min to get out of a chair, I can't put on my own socks. Certain steps will cause severe pain to shoot through my lower back and I nearly stumble. It's been 48 hours since the shot.

Hello, Anon.

From some of the comments below, it seems as though this is not long lasting. Mention this to your doctor. This seems to be an issue for many people. I'm sorry you are going through this.

My husband just had the flu shot a week ago November 2018 and within a couple of days started suffering severe lower back pain. He has tried ibuprofen and muscle relaxants and ice and hot baths and it isn't improving. It has now been 5 days...We are going to try the hisbiscus tea. This is the first time he had a flu shot and I doubt he will want to get another one.

I received the flu shot 3 days ago, in the early afternoon. By late evening experienced severe low back pain which radiated to the shoulder blades, accompanied with spasms. The pain has continued ever since, moving to places on either side of my spine. At times can’t sit and stand for lengthy intervals and feel a sciatica-like pain down my leg.
Does anyone who experienced similar symptoms know how long the pains and spasms will last. Also, are there any home remedies to cure the pain, rather then resorting to pain killers.

I received the flu vaccine 10 days ago, 3 days after the vaccine my entire mouth broke out in canker sores and the next day I woke up and couldn't put any weight on my leg. The back, hip and leg pain was and continues to be severe. It is not sciatica. I can barely walk 10 feet. I have been to my doctor who did blood work and xrays which were normal and offered no additional help. I have been on Ibuprofen round the clock, pain patches, Epsom salt soak and no relief. I am seeking chiropractic help on Monday if I am not better. If anyone found a solution or relief, please post. I have never had any back or muscle problems prior to this.

Yes, this happened to me after my last flu shot. Physical therapy made it worse. I was in agony for 9+ months Until my doctor said let's try aquatic therapy. The warm (92 degrees) water and the slow, water exercises began, ever so slowly, to help. I did the aquatic therapy, faithfully, for 6 months. The best exercise was the vertical float, with weights on ankles. Much much better now.

I got a flu shot last week at the Sacramento VA and since then I woke up with severe lower back pain. I thought it was kidney issues but hot baths soothes the sore back so I'm assuming it's muscle aches. It's just as bad today as it was yesterday.
