Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. I am glad you reached out to us with your concern.

There would not have been a risk of becoming pregnant by having unprotected sex two days after your period ended. It was too early in your new menstrual cycle for ovulation. Without a released egg, there was nothing for sperm to fertilize.

By taking the emergency contraceptive, you triggered your body to release uterine lining, which is what you are calling a period. Please call your gynecologist or primary care physician for further recommendations.

Regards,
Maryann
