Hello,

Maybe someone can help me. I have been on birth control for a little over a month. I didn't take my pills for 2 days and me and my bf had sex. He did finish inside of me twice. On my period calendar it says I'm fertile. Can I get pregnant? I would like to get pregnant soon, so I'm trying to know when the best time it is to get pregnant. Thanks for all the help!

Hello Miszbee,

If you would like to become pregnant soon, why did you start taking birth control pills?

Missing two doses of the active pills, especially if these were the first two doses in a new pack, could put you at risk, especially if you didn't make up for the missed doses.

Essentially, having "unprotected" intercourse during your fertile time increases your chance of becoming pregnant.

Miszbee, please talk with your gynecologist about this to determine if you should continue taking your birth control pills, or stop and wait at least two weeks to have a blood pregnancy test done.

Maryann

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. To better answer your question, I need some clarification. Was the pill which you took on May 7 an inactive pill? You had your period from May 6 through to May 9, right?
You should have started a new pack on May 10, correct? You missed the first dose but started on May 11. Did you continue to take a daily active pill?

If you had been taking a daily active birth control pill since May 11, you were protected even if the condom broke.

Maryann
