How effective is the P2 pill.?

I had sex two days before my ovulation and the condom broke. I had just started using femiplan contraceptives that morning but I took a p2 pill when the condom broke...as instructed and discontinued the contraceptives I had started taking. Do I need to worry?

What if I take the p2 pill after having unprotected sex a day after ovulating. How effective is it then?

Guide

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
As long as you took the EC correctly, it will effectively prevent pregnancy. Since you had not started ovulating yet, your chances of getting pregnant are even less.
The general rule for taking month bill control pills, are that you should use a condom for the first week and then you are fully protected after that time.
If you want to start taking the femiplan pills again, you should start with a new pack so that you are on track.
