Q:

I have COPD and electrolyte imbalance. What is the best treatment for electrolyte imbalance?

I am 86 + years old and do not "work out" as in exercise to work up a sweat. I was advised by my doctor to drink "ridiculous" amounts of PoweradeZERO or GatoradeG2 for the treatment. I'm not sure what results I should expect and I was given no follow-up appointment.

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for reaching out to our community for help.

We cannot advise you on the best treatment option to correct an electrolyte imbalance. Only your primary care physician can.
Your physician has lab reports which should say which electrolytes are out of balance.

Please call and schedule a follow up appointment.

Regards,
Maryann
