Three months ago my kidneys were abruptly downgraded from III to V when for about 12 years they were stable at III. At this time I am suffering no apparent discomfort but am aware of the eventual signals of further failure. Also my age of 96 has been declared too old for transplant or dialysis. Can a specific diet delay further damage to the kidney's? If so please provide.

Hello Anon
Thank you for writing!
The American Kidney Fund has a great section on special diets for kidney health.
Please copy and paste this link: http://www.kidneyfund.org/kidney-disease/chronic-kidney-disease-ckd/kidney-friendly-diet-for-ckd.html
Working with a dietitian who specializes in kidney health will also help.
I hope it helps and we wish you the best in health,
