I had anal sex on the 19th and ever since then it hurts to pee it is a burning sensation but it does go away as long as I chug lots and lots of water until the next day where it hurts again. I’m 17 and I’ve been with my partner for 2 years I know it isn’t an std we are exclusive. What do I do?

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

Anal sex can cause UTI's by pushing fecal matter into the urinary tract or by not using proper hygiene after. Your symptoms are similar to those of a UTI. Drink plenty of cranberry juice to help ease the pain and see your doctor - you may need antibiotics to cleat this up. Not treating a UTI can lead to a kidney infection which can be quite serious.
Best,
Susan
