Hi anonymous,
Antibiotics significantly decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills-- many times making it possible to get pregnant even if you do take your pill as prescribed. Are you late on your period? Or is it coming up soon? If you are late you may test for pregnancy and get an accurate result. If you're close to your cycle this month, then I suggest waiting until you either get your period (which will let you know that you are not pregnant) or until you are late (to test).
Best Wishes!

hello,
March 14, 2011 - 2:14pmI have been taking birth control pills for the past year. ( yaz ) I took a break of about two months but I could not handle my menstrual cramps, so I began to take the pills again. ( it has been about 4 months since the break) Now I have been with my boyfriend for over three years, so we do not use any other type of birth control besides me taking yaz. Within the pass week or so we did have unprotected sex (no condom) and he did ejaculate inside of me. I also happen to miss the pill I was suppose to take that night after this had happened. THEN, my dumb self forgot to take the following pill after that. The first pill I missed I just threw out due to how sick I feel when doubling up. The second pill I missed was day 16 out of 28 days. ( second day in the third week ) Now I have been spotting for six days when I should not get my period for another 3 or 4? Does any one have any suggestions to why this is?

Hi Anonymous,
Only one pill is necessary to protect her as long as the pill was taken within 72 hours. It doesn't matter how many times sex occurred. I hope this helps answer your question.
Good Luck, Missie

I had unprotected sex 2 days in a row and didn't take my birth control either day and haven't for 2 days after. Could I be pregnant cuz I might be ovulating too.

Dear Anon,
Yes there is a chance you could be pregnant if you were ovulating and had unprotected sex. The only way to truly know if you are pregnant is by waiting for your next period and testing either a couple of days before getting it or once you are late (IF you are late). Please keep in mind that at any point in time when you are of childbearing age and you have unprotected sex there is always a chance for pregnancy.
For more sources and information, please read the above posts.
Good Luck

I forgot to take my pill on saturday. On sunday I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. But that night I took the missing pill plus the one I had to take that day. These pills were the 7 and 8 of yasminiq. Should I be worried about this? Should I take the pill after? What should i DO?
Thank you so much!!!!

Hi Anonymous,
March 1, 2011 - 10:08amAnytime you forget to take a birth control pill and have sex it does minimally increase your risk of getting pregnant. You did what you were supposed to do in taking both saturday and sunday's pills when you remembered. If you are really concerned about getting pregnant, you may want to be extra diligent about taking the rest of your pills on time, and use a back-up method of birth control like the withdrawal method, or condoms until you have taken the pill consistently for a week.

Good luck and let us know how you're doing.

Hi Tinalopezz,
February 23, 2011 - 9:43amI'm wondering, in addition to what Alison said, have you taken a pregnancy test to verify you're not pregnant?
Let us know, and call your doctor to see what they suggest.
Good luck, and hope you get the results you're looking for soon.
