Hello I have a question I recently missed a pill in my first week of my pack, I didn't take two the next day since it was already time for my next one when I noticed, then a couple of days ago I had a little brown discharge I am concerned this may have been me ovulating or maybe implantation spotting just need your opinion if you think I could be pregnant or not? Thanks

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

A positive pregnancy will indicate if you are pregnant. Levels of hCG, commonly called the pregnancy hormone, can be detected in urine about 12 to 14 days following conception. If your period is late by at least one week, take a pregnancy test.

If pills are missed, the chance that pregnancy will occur depends not only on how many pills were missed, but also on when those pills were missed. The risk of pregnancy is greatest when active (hormonal) pills are missed at the beginning or at the end of the active pills.

The small amount of brown vaginal discharge is your body's reaction to the hormone fluctuations brought on by missing an active pill.

Implantation bleeding is scanty and usually pink or brownish discharge. Normally, it occurs a week to a few days before your period would normally start.

In the future, when you miss one active pill, take the pill as soon as possible.
