Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for asking our help.

Postinor 2 is 95% effective in preventing pregnancy if taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. It prevents pregnancy by preventing ovulation. The sooner you take it, the better will be the effectiveness.

Anonymous, you mention that you are seeing blood. Is this the spotting you noticed before taking the pill or are you having vaginal bleeding now?

You will know that the pill worked and that you are not pregnant once you have vaginal bleeding.

Regards,
Maryann

Well the bleeding was before I took the pill. I started bleeding on the 29th of November, had sex on the 27th and I took the pill on the 30th while I was still seeing blood. Does this mean that the pregnancy had already taken place why am bleeding or what could you say was the cause of this?? Please note it was not rough sex.

Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for clarify that.

I am concerned that you were having vaginal bleeding two days following intercourse but still took the pill. I seriously doubt you are pregnant and if so, then the pregnancy is at risk.

Please contact your gynecologist today.

Maryann
