Q:

My period is late after taking Postinor 2

Hello,
I was on my 6th day of my cycle (just finishing my period). The condom split so I took the first tablet of postinor2 2 hours later (1am). We then had unprotected sex 6 hours later (7am). I took the 2nd postinor tablet 3 hours later(10am).
8 days later I had heavy bleeding lasting 4 days. Firstly, is this a sign that postinor worked?
Since then i have had no sign of my period.
In the last 2 weeks (aboit 22nd day of cycle) I have had the flu and been unwell. This has all made me quite anxious.
My period cycle is quite irregular.
Thanks for your help in advance

Hello, Anon.

As you can see from the comments below, ECP can cause irregularity in your menstrual cycle. You wouldn't be pregnant if you had withdrawal bleeding for over a week. If you doubt this, a pregnancy test can ease your mind. We can't predict when your period (s) will go back to normal. For most, they regulate by the second cycle.

ECP should only be used for emergencies so keep this in mind.

best,

Helena

Hello.

Unless you had unprotected sex again, you wouldn't be pregnant after having two periods. Your period is late for other reasons, this can happen. A pregnancy will ease your mind.

Good day my Gf and I had sex last month... She took postnor2 immediately and some days after she had vaginal bleeding which lasted for roughly a week stopped September 14... Now her period is supposed to start early dis month but nothing yet.

Hello, Anon.

If she had withdrawal bleeding for a week, she wouldn't be pregnant. ECP can often cause a late or missed (next) period. That said, a pregnancy test can ease both your minds.

Hello, Anon.

If you had bleeding it's not likely you are pregnant. ECP can cause a delay in your next period. Take a pregnancy test to ease your mind. If it's been two months it would be accurate by now.

My period was one week late from the time it was supposed to come maybe because I took postinor2 after an unprotected sex. When it finally came, it lasted for only two days but I normally have period for four or five days and it wasn't as heavy as I used to have. Does it mean I could be pregnant?

Hello.

Periods can often be delayed or longer/shorter as a result of taking ECP. They should get back to normal by the second cycle. A pregnancy test can ease your mind.

Hi. Please, I need your help.

My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex around 11 pm on 5th of August and I didn't take Postinor-2 until around 9pm the next day, 6th. I took the second pill around 10 am on 7th. Now, I've been expecting my period since 20th. However, today is 22nd of August, and I have not seen my period. I've been experiencing cramps and light spotting since 20th but no traces of my period. I'm freaking out seriously. Please, am I pregnant?
