My period is late after taking Postinor 2

Hello,
I was on my 6th day of my cycle (just finishing my period). The condom split so I took the first tablet of postinor2 2 hours later (1am). We then had unprotected sex 6 hours later (7am). I took the 2nd postinor tablet 3 hours later(10am).
8 days later I had heavy bleeding lasting 4 days. Firstly, is this a sign that postinor worked?
Since then i have had no sign of my period.
In the last 2 weeks (aboit 22nd day of cycle) I have had the flu and been unwell. This has all made me quite anxious.
My period cycle is quite irregular.
Thanks for your help in advance

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

Your period is likely late due to taking P2 - period delays are common. Your period may be a week or two away yet. A pregnancy test is generally accurate 14 days after sex if you'd like reassurance.

Hello Anon

Your period isn't coming because you are overusing these pills. If you don't take them anymore you should get your next period in the next few weeks.

My girl friend ought to have her menstrual period normally on 14th, she saw it on 7th and it was heavy like the Norms ...we had sex on the last day of which I release inside her, later that day she took postinol 1,now one week later she experienced dark blood flowing again... Same month making it seems like menstruating twice... Am really scared

Could it be pregnancy signs of implantation???

Hi,

Withdrawl bleeding can occur 2-7 days after taking emergency contraception. If she is bleeding, she is not pregnant. However, most women feel better taking a pregnancy test if they still have doubts or miss their next period. For future, condom's should be used to avoid this kind of situation.

Hello, please help out. I had sex on my ovulation day in the morning. (i use a period app so i know) took postinor 2 in the evening, but took the second pill 14 hours later. earlier this week, my nips hurt a bit, and i feel fatigue more. The pain in the nips is gone, don't feel it anymore but my period was supposed to come yesterday but it did not. I'm kinda worried, do you think i'm pregnant?

Hi,

If you don't have any bleeding 3 weeks after taking the pill, test for pregnancy. That's the only way to know. ECP prevents pregnancy by delaying/preventing ovulation. It won't stop a pregnancy already in place (if ovulation has occurred).

Hi, so i did a home test friday night, came out positive, tried the next morning same thing. Apparently, the pill did not work.
First time mum, so feeling is mixed with confusion and elation (I did not want to get preggy, but now that it's here i'm kinda happy) Thank you for your help

Hi,

At least now you know so you can decide what to do moving forward. But it seems you have already decided. Good luck!
