hi. I have been with my boyfriend for 6 months now and i have just gotten a pregnancy scare. On December 17th we were together and 1 thing lead to another. We never had intercourse BUT there was dry humping (with clothes). I know that dry humping cannot lead to pregnancy but the thing that scares me is he did begin to finger me and i do not know whether he had something on his hands at that point. I know i'm not ready for such behaviour and i will not be engaging in this again but is there any possible way of being pregnant? I started to bleed on the 4th Jan and i assumed that this was my period as it lasted 4-5 days and that was when my period would've been due anyway. I'm just scared because i read something called 'implantation bleeding' happening during pregnancy and some cases where women claim that they got their period whilst being pregnant? Is it safe to assume that im not pregnant or is it necessary for me to do a pregnancy test?

Hi Humma,

Thank you for sharing your question.

You are correct, you can not become pregnant by dry humping or any of the other activity you described, so it's not necessary for you to take a pregnancy test. If you did not engage is unprotected sex, then you should have no worries about implantation bleeding.

Be well,

Thank-you so much Gillete

It's just that theres Alot of sources on the internet that claim that it is possible to become pregnant without penetration and this is what is scaring me.
