Hi, I've been spotting for 3 months between my periods. I'm on hormonal birth control and I have been for years. My periods come at the same time each month and I'm not pregnant. I do NOT have any other issues such as smell or burning or painful urination. I don't know why this is happening. My mom thinks it's stress, but I'm not sure.

Hello Chloe1998
Thank you for writing.
Stress can affect the menstrual cycle, even if regulated by birth control.
Women can also get side effects from the Pill out of the blue, even if never previously having them. There should be no additional risk of pregnancy for anyone who spots while on birth control and taking it correctly. Talk to your doctor about this spotting but it's likely harmless (though annoying).
