Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. I am glad you reached out to our community about Norlevo.

Norlevo contains the hormone levonorgestrel (progesterone). It is thought to prevent pregnancy by delaying or preventing ovulation.

Anonymous, the correct way to take this emergency contraceptive is to take only one tablet containing 1.5 milligrams of levonorgestrel as soon as possible but not more than 72 hours (three days) after having unprotected sex.

The pill will prevent pregnancy if taken before ovulation and as soon as possible AFTER unprotected intercourse. It should not be taken before and again after. This can cause a serious over dosing of the hormone, progesterone.

Regards,
Maryann
