On ovulation day (day 44 of 28) me and my boyfriend were fooling around and we had our genetals rubbed
But no penetration . My boyfriend had ejaculated before we started doing the rubbing but he washed(sorry for being disgusting but i have to explain)
I know about precm and thats why im scared
I took ellaone the next day
But then i did some research and found out that ellaone will not work if ovulation already happened
Today is day 6 after taking ellaone EC and i feel pelvic pain and hardness of the uterus wall which is really worrying me. Is that a symptom of pregnancy?
Will this make me pregnant?
Can you please help me

Hello Nhrn,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for reaching out to us with your concern about possibly being pregnant.

As you know, pre ejaculate fluid does not in itself contain sperm. There may be sperm left in the male's urethra from a recent ejaculation. This is flushed out when he urinates.

So, in your case, without penetration and ejaculation of semen, there was no risk for pregnancy and no need to take the emergency contraceptive.

Common side effects of ellaOne are:

nausea, abdominal (stomach) pain or discomfort, vomiting
painful periods, pelvic pain, breast tenderness
headache, dizziness, mood swings
muscle pain, back pain, tiredness

You did not become pregnant.

Regards,
Maryann

Thank you Maryann
I'm still worried about one thing i hope you can help me with.
This happened 14 days before my next period which means on ovulation day... What if a sperm already fertilized the egg that was released within the 17 hours before i took ellaone
Will ellaone work if this happened?
This is really worrying me Maryann.. I hope you can help me

Guide (reply to Nhzn)

Hello Nhzn,

There was no sperm to fertilize a released egg, unless you are not telling me everything. Was there vaginal intercourse? Was there penetration with ejaculation?

EllaOne is a tablet containing the active ingredient ulipristal acetate, which is a type of medicine called a selective progesterone receptor modulator. It works by acting on the body's receptors for the naturally occurring female sex hormone, progesterone.

Ulipristal is thought to work mainly by preventing or delaying ovulation, depending on which stage of the menstrual cycle the woman is at.

In a woman's normal menstrual cycle, an egg matures and is released from the ovaries (ovulation). The ovary then produces progesterone, which prevents the release of further eggs. Ulipristal tricks the body processes into thinking that ovulation has already occurred. It prevents or delays the release of an egg from the ovaries for five days.

Nhrn, if you still are concerned, please consult your physician or pharmacist.

No penetration at all
It is only the fact that pre ejaculate fluid contained sperm leftovers from a pre ejaculation was on my vulva thats all
The pre ejaculation was nowhere near me or my vulva
Im scared that left over sperm would reach my egg
But i swear there was no penetration
Im still a virgin
Should i be worried?

Hello Nhrn,

I do not think you should be so worried. But, I cannot guarantee you 100% that not one sperm entered you.

At this point, call your gynecologist. Maybe the result of a blood pregnancy test can put this matter to rest. I don't know what else to say.
