Q:

Withdrawal bleeding on BC

Can I be sure that the withdrawal bleeding I have on my placebo week is a sign that I'm not pregnant? Would 3 weeks after intercourse be a sufficient time to take a pregnancy test that would show reliable results? Thanks

Guide

Hello, Anon!

Thank you for your post today.

You can test for pregnancy 14-21 days after sex. If 3 weeks have passed, go ahead and test. There is only about a 1% risk of pregnancy when on the pill if taken regularly every day as prescribed. So, you are protected each day, even on the inactive pill days.

best,

Helena
