Stress is something we hear about a lot lately. But if we look back, the term was not around before the 1950s (Selye) and recently most of us face stress on a daily basis. Stress is a phenomenon that recently developed in a way, that sometimes is hidden unless we take a step back to observe it. We may think that stress only affects the way we look at things, but many studies show that we actually get physical consequences from it.

(Krantz) The way we have shifted towards office/ service related jobs and the rise of coronary disease as the main cause of death in our time prove how much this new era has affected us.
