Tired of the yo-yo diets??
For many years I struggled with my weight, even gaining 80 pounds due to my depression. I would constantly go on diets cutting out different foods, drinking shakes or taking all sorts of pills. It would work for a while but then I couldn't keep it up forever so I'd go back to my regular routine and gain it all right back!
I got so sick of nothing working I decided to just follow my own plan..to eat generally healthy and exercise. I lost all of my weight and I've kept it off for 3 years now! No special diet, I didn't cut out all of my carbs, I take no supplements besides vitamins and I workout between 3-5days from 20-60minutes. I've never felt better, I can finally say I'm Healthy and Happy!! So why is it there are so many yo-yo diets out there and everyone feels they have to follow them?? I started to blog about my success in tips and suggestions posts which helps keep me motivated: http://sheisjustgettingstarted.blogspot.com
Has anyone had the same trouble as I have with special diets? What have you had success with?
Thanks for sharing this awesome post. It really improved my health...

Jackie,
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I was impressed with your decision, when nothing seemed to have worked for you. I would like to learn more about the specifics how you did it. I am asking, because I am very interested in the weight loss method you described.
Maintaining for three years is a great achievement. Congratulations!

Mrk34- I actually just overall changed my lifestyle with the general view of Healthy Eating+Exercise= Results. I was tired of the drastic measures so I slowly tweaked what I was eating to be more healthy. For instance I love pizza, so instead of buying a pizza pie from a local pizza place(I live in NY so they're everywhere!!) I'd make my own with wheat dough light tomato sauce (sometime's I'd make my own) and low fat cheese and turkey pepperoni. The real key I think that kept me going was to keep it interesting...I always tried new workouts to challenge myself and to keep using different muscle groups, and I always tried different healthy recipes adding my own favorite spices etc. and never did the boring egg whites for breakfast and salad for dinner thing. Now I am trying to blog and make an ebook about my successes and also my current progress which has motivated me even more!
