Yeah, I mean hormones are the core of everything that goes on with our body, and by the way, that is for men and women. You know, somehow women get this label of being the hormonal people, but actually hormonal changes happen in men. It is why you see so many young guys, when they are going from 12 to 13 and experiencing puberty, all of a sudden develop acne because their androgen hormones are starting to move much more quickly; they are producing a lot of sebum. You see the exact same thing in women who have never had a break-out till they hit their 30s because they start the pre-menopausal progress, and they are experiencing these hormonal changes. So what we know is hormones are forever. We know that we are going to have volatility in hormones throughout our life. What we often don’t know is why does that cause the symptom on my skin? So we aren’t going to change the fact that we are going to have hormonal changes, but what we can do is be prepared and be knowledgeable so we know how to address these changes. So that is why being proactive, in almost every phase to resurface, which . . . hormones are always tied to two things. They are usually tied to stress, and our bodies respond differently under different stress for men and women, and then the stress impacts the skin, dryness of the skin, all those things come as a result of the hormonal changes and stress. But the other is that hormones also always produce sebum, which is the oil that lubricates our body, and that is the culprit of a lot of the changes that we see. And last but not the least, hormones affect what we called discoloration or the hyper-pigmentation of the skin because not only do hormones excite the production of oil in our sebaceous glands, but they also excite melanin which are the little colored deposits on our skin. That is why when you have a baby or you go through menopause, and men go through male menopause, all of a sudden they see age spots that they did not see on their hands and their face because hormonally they are starting to get more melanin production because of the hormonal onsets. So we have those things now; we just need to know that is the reality and we are going to address them with a game plan. And so everybody needs to have a personal improvement game plan that comes with their skin care, and that is where a good coach comes in to hand is to help you establish that game plan, and more importantly, stick with it long enough to see results.
