My suggestion to a woman who has suffered an osteoporosis-related injury: If it’s a fracture, do everything your doctor tells you to do because if you don’t, it can make the difference on your recovery and the mobility depending on where it is. When I broke my leg with a tibial plateau fracture I did everything they told me to do and I only have 80 percent use of that leg. If I had not followed the rules I would have no use of that leg.
So listen to your doctor. Listen to your physical therapist. Do your exercises. Do whatever they suggest and prescribe for you so that you can heal to be as normal as you were before the injury.
