Dr. Dunnewold:
I say we have lots of research that says there are actual biochemical changes that happen in your brain as your hormones fall premenstrually. So we used to think women were just mean or being a bitch or whatever, and now we know women’s brains function differently because of these falling hormones.
So it’s in your head, but it’s very much a mind-body connection of how the hormones, the female hormones, interact with the brain hormones.
