Dr. Shulman explains if hormone replacement therapies can improve a woman's libido and reignite her sexual interest.

Dr. Shulman:
There are no FDA approved hormonal or even non-hormonal regimens that are indicated for the treatment of libido. I think the information from the intimate trial shows that the women who truly have hypoactive sexual disorder that transdermal testosterone in that trial were shown to improve sexual activity and sexual satisfaction in surgically and naturally menopausal women.

Unfortunately, that is not currently available and it is also clear that the testosterone preparations, in particularly the oral testosterone preparations, do not appear to have an overall beneficial impact with regard to hypoactive sexual disorder. So, the simple answer to your question is no. The more detailed answer to your question is that they are off label products that have been shown to improve interest and I think it is important that if those products are given, they are given by people who have particular experience and interest in evaluating and treating women with sexual problems.
