Dr. Eric R. Horton, M.D. is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in lower extremity conditions and ankle and foot reconstruction at Alvarado Orthopedic Medical Group. He has almost ten years of private practice experience in treating a wide range of adult, juvenile, and childhood orthopedic disorders including trauma, sports injuries, arthritis, leg deformities, and other musculoskeletal conditions of the body.
He was well trained at the University of California, Irvine and completed additional fellowship training in orthopedic foot and ankle reconstruction with Dr. Roger Mann, M.D., a well-known pioneer in specialized foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Horton has been closely involved in the review of outcomes with the total ankle joint replacement, a technique for treating debilitating ankle arthritis in some people. He is enthusiastic about offering this treatment as well as many others to his patients.
He is skilled in the medical management as well as reconstructive surgery of bones and joints. He is accomplished in the use of arthroscopy, cartilage transplantation, internal and external fixation including Ilizarov & Taylor Spatial methods, computer-assisted surgery, and limited invasive techniques.
