Dr. Horton shares if a woman can wear heels after having an ankle joint replacement.

Dr. Horton:
I think one of the advantages of maintaining range of motion in your ankle such as with an ankle joint replacement is that it does open you up to more options for footwear such as wearing high heels. Now we don’t recommend wearing super high heels, but a two-inch heel is more than acceptable and sometimes even tolerated higher than that depending on how much range of motion you preserve with an ankle joint replacement. Unlike a fusion, you would not be able to wear heels very effectively because your motion is restricted.
