Visit a friend, take them Christmas shopping

For some the holiday season is a lonely time. Empty hours weigh heavily on those living with poverty and illness. Financial worries suck all the joy from this season.

Do you know someone who could use some help or some company? Visit them at Christmas. Drive them to the stores, help them do their shopping.

If you can do it, add to their Christmas budget and make a happier season possible for them.

It's easy to get wrapped up in the hectic pace and frenetic spending that can accompany the holiday season. So much to do! Friends and families to buy for, special foods and treats to lay out for the holiday spread. Parties and social obligations crowd the calendar.

But wait.

Does some of it ring hollow? When you have a rare quiet moment, does it seem like something is missing or left out?

Want your giving to have special meaning and ongoing effects? Then it's time to think about giving back during this season that is supposed to be all about giving.
