Lori describes her oncoplasty experience.
Lori:
Well, my experience is that primarily instead of having a mastectomy, which is a major surgery, and then going back and the scar tissue builds up in the breasts, and then going back and having to put in the implants. That is a whole other major surgery. So in essence I feel I alleviated one surgery plus cutting through the areola and taking that off. Like I said, my scars are right along the areola, but, you know, as far as you look at my breast itself, you know, you cannot see any scars. So from a physical standpoint and then the benefit of just that one major surgery as opposed to two, which technically it would be.
