Hello, I'm 36 years old and a month ago started having stomach problems, nausea, dizziness, low night fevers..etc., I figured I had a stomach bug but at the same time began to feel pain under my armpit that spread to the breast area closest to the armpit. I asked my doctor about this pain, he said, he felt no lumps and that it was probably my lymph nodes bothering me as a result of the stomach bug and that it would go away soon. My dizziness got so bad I went to the ER one night and also complained to the ER doctor about the breast pain but he said he felt no lumps and told me not to worry about it. It's been a month, I am feeling a little better from my stomach although I still get dizzy after I eat and wake up nauseaus from time to time but the pain under my arm and breast is still there. I'm terrified, I saw another doctor and he's sending me for an ultrasound. What could be causing this pain for so long? One doctor said it could be my Lymph Nodes, the other said he wasn't sure, and the other one said it wasn't my lymph nodes! what can this be?

That sounds like what I have been suffering for about 6/8 weeks, but not so badly as the above. First I thought it was food poisoning but at the same time I started to get pains under the arms (no swelling), particularly the right arm and also sore right breast and a bit the other side as well. Mammogram didn't find anything; the doctor not really interested...but I go on feeling mildly ill all the while. Still not sure that it isn't food poisoning that continues to cause the mild nausea ...maybe two different things at the same time. Doctor seems to be shrugging it off as some sort of virus??? I am normally robustly healthy (although OLD) so a compromised lymph system seems a bit odd. I wonder if it could be Shingles.

Hi i am 28 yrs old ... I stopped breast feeding 7 months back suddenly a month back i noticed my breasts were leaking again. Then i noticed a small cyst like rt under the tip of my nipple. My right breast is still lactating and the cyst has has now become softer and like a blocked duct. I have got shooting pain under the rib and area just out side the armpit at a prticular point. Just scared to go to the doctor as my mother was also diagnosed with breast cancer few months. Sometimes i just feel its all psychological too coz of my mums condition. Please advice

Hello Anonymous,

I am glad you reached out to our community. I can truly appreciate your reservation to consult your gynecologist/obstetrician, but you really should. I appreciate how heavily your mother's recent diagnosis of breast cancer must be weighing on your mind.

It's not unusual at all for mothers to leak or be able to express drops of milky or clear fluid for months or even years after they stop nursing.

According to a lactation consultant at pregnancy.org, "This only becomes a concern if the breasts produce a large amount of milk for long periods of time. If the breasts stay engorged or lots of milk leaks out months after weaning, then there may be a problem and the mom should be checked out by a doctor."

Your body may still be adjusting. But, it would be wise to be have the cyst looked at. I am not suggesting it indicates cancer, but related to why you are leaking.

Regards,
Maryann

I'm 15 and have started having very bad spasms of pain in the lower right of my great and under my armpit. I am not sure what this is and what I can do to prevent it from happening. It has been happening for a week and each time it makes me feel very lightheaded as well as constantly feeling dizzy. My parents aren't too worried but I feel like this may be caused by something or is linked to something bigger.

I have had same thing now for almost a year and half. The symptoms are mainly from my irritable bowel syndrome and getting nerve testing done soon for armpit. I had manmogram etc done so its all part of the auto immune disease issues. It is irritating but find diet and reducing stresses do help bit

I have IBS, and am having a discomfort in my armpit. Not really a pain, sometimes it feels like I have a wad of something in my armpit, other times it seems to travel to the bend of my elbow. Where I can I find info on discomfort in armpit and IBS? Thanks for any help!

Hello, I have suffered from Fibrocystic breast for a few years. Pain and lumpiness in the under arm and breast area. After being scared to death, I went to my family doctor, who calmed my fears. She also told me to take vitamin e. It has helps greatly with my flare ups. A little about me: The pain started when I was 25, I am now 27.5 and have had a few flare ups. I have large natural breast, thus the root of my pain. Good luck to all.
