yes i know the side affects on it. but its that its been weird. the period has been on and off. like it would go away for a few hours and then come back. and today would be the day that i would regularly get it so does that mean i will have it untill i normally get off of it ??

This means that you have been having a light or scanty period-- but it does not mean that it's going away and then coming back. If it has been ongoing for weeks, please see your doctor to best determine the cause since bleeding for weeks at a time should always be evaluated.

Hi KatheleenB,

Emergency Contraceptives such as Plan B, for example, can cause a change in your period. Sometimes it can come early or late. In your case, it came early. However, the bleeding should begin to subside. If you continue bleeding another week, please go see your doctor. Also, take the time to read side effects of the contraceptive either in the information sheet that comes in the original package or here: http://www.planbonestep.com/plan-b-faq.aspx

Best Wishes,
