Another "Pregnant? or just Stress-induced missed period?" question

The start of my most recent period was on Feb 26 - projected ovulation date being March 14, projected next period March 28 (via MyMonthlyCycles, where I have been keeping track of my period for 1 year). Average cycle - 30 days.

We had protected intercourse on March 3 and 24. The condom didn't break; slipped down maybe an inch but we pushed it right back up.

Now my period is 3 or 4 days late (depending if you count the 28th), with no usual signs of cramping etc that I normally get. Took two HPT's and both came out negative. Discharge looks normal, no tenderness of breasts or anything. I have had a little bit of an upset stomach but I think I may just be getting sick - I am under quite a bit of stress.

I know it's unlikely that I am pregnant, but I am paranoid since I can't afford to have a child right now. I have heard that stress really can throw off a regular period (I have been regular for 8 years now), but I have a hard time believing it since I am so paranoid... help? I don't know what's wrong with me!

Have a GYNO appt coming up in a month, but I'm the type of person who likes to know without going to the doc! It sure would be nice if my period would come!

Hello Ms. Ann,

Taking glutathione should not affect your menstrual cycle. Glutathione is a small molecule that is found in every cell in the human body. It is the body's most important antioxidant. It occurs naturally in many foods. A person who eats plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and freshly prepared meat will have an adequate intake of glutathione.

The recent change in your menstrual cycle indicates a change in the normal hormonal balance. Hormones regulate the menstrual cycle. Higher than normal stress levels, being ill with a virus or traveling can affect your cycle.

See what happens next month. If your menstrual flow continues to be light and your period short, consult your physician.

Regards,
Maryann

Ah, it's like every comment is me. My boyfriend and I had protected sex (Though he didn't pull out) right around the time I would expect to have ovulated. I am 99.999999% sure I'm just being paranoid, because we were about as careful as could be expected (he wouldn't touch me after touching the condom or himself until after washing his hands), but I have been stressing about this since the event.
It's only been a day late, but I can't seem to induce it no matter what I do. In addition to this, I've been getting cramps for the past couple of weeks (which, again, feels like stress more than it does any actual conception, but it's not a fantastic sign in any situation)

(There's a question in here somewhere!)

Is it likely that the stress around the time of ovulation may have delayed my entire cycle? Could it be that the continued stress is delaying my period? Or...should I go buy a test...?
(In addition, I have all of the feelings that my period should be arriving, the only thing missing is the period itself!)

Hi,

I'm kind of freaking out now. I had sex last Friday and Saturday with my boyfriend. Both times were protected with no breaks or leaks. On Saturday we also had unprotected anal sex but no semen "came out" down there and I got rid of it all in the toilet after and was careful to wipe backwards. My period was supposed to come on Tuesday and now it is 2 days late. I was under a lot of stress because both me and my boyfriend are exchange students in Germany but he lives so far away we can only see each other once every 3 months and I was very sad to say goodbye to him and stressed over this possible pregnancy. I've also had a bit of a UTI I think(peeing quite often and it BURNS) and now the UTI is gone after cranberry pills. I get a cramp here and there, and sometimes my breasts feel a bit tender but pretty weak for pms symptoms. I don't really think I'm pregnant but I am a little uneasy about the late period!! Thanks in advance!

Hello Anonymous,

I do not think there is a chance that you could have become pregnant. Try to relax and I am certain your period will come, maybe a few days late because of the increased stress and UTI. Stress and illness can cause a period to be late.

Best regards,
Maryann

My last period started on the 26th of January. I had it for about five or six day, which is normal for me. I had protected sex on the Sunday I ended my period, five days before my ovulation period, with no problems as far as I could tell. I've been having cramps which is unusual for me, but other tham that I've been fine. My cycle is uaually 30 but it's never later. I don't know if it's because I've been stressing about school and exams and work but I'm a little late and concerned. Adding stress to stress is not good right now... please help me!!

I started birth control about 6 years ago, stopped in early December because I was having adverse side effects and felt better when I stopped for the week of my period.
I have now been off for 3 full months, and should have started my period 5 days ago. The 3 periods prior to this were right on track and this time I haven't had any spotting or bleeding at all. My husband and I have only had protected sex since going off the pill.
I have been having lower abdominal cramping similar to period cramping (but far weaker) for the past 3 days. I thought it might be a signal my period had arrived but so far only clear mucus. My breasts are quite tender, and (normally a stomach sleeper) find it slightly uncomfortable to lie on my stomach.
My husband is sure I'm not pregnant because "we've been using protection" but I'm not so sure. I have been under no more stress than normal so I don't think stress is affecting it.
I have not taken an HPT yet but wondering if I should, and if so, if I should wait a few more days prior to taking it?

I still haven't started period, I started myprevious one on the 26th jan finished 30th jan but im worried as I was on injection for years came off it last jan periods have been sporadic. Could I be pregnant?
