Since you are worried that it has been too long, you can choose to call your doctor, or go to a walk-in clinic so a doctor can visually inspect the bite.

I am unsure why you are using neosporin on the insect bite, or covering with a bandaid. Are there signs of infection, or an opening (puncture wound) on/around the insect bite? If you have only a raised bump that is closed, not infected, not swelling and not actively spreading (growing bigger), try not using neosporin or a bandaid, and see if the insect bite improves on its own.

My only concern from your description is the bug bite is "big" now (size of a dime is not very big, but that it has grown). If it has grown recently, this could indicate infection. If it became larger within the first few days after the bite, it may have been from scratching the area unknowingly (since you said it was itching).

Lastly, it sounds like you have no other symptoms: headache, dizziness, fever, difficulty swallowing, infection, rash that is spreading. These are signs from an insect bite that you would want to immediately contact your doctor.

If you are worried, by all means call your doctor or go to a walk-in clinic. If you are OK waiting another week without using neosporin (and again, have no other symptoms), this is another option. (For some people, neosporin used for this length of time can cause some irritation to the skin).
