Q:

Can I be pregnant after two normal periods and having taken a morning-after a few hours after intercourse?

I had intercourse two months ago in March. Although I know it is not a fool-proof method, my partner did not ejaculate inside. A few hours after, I rushed to the drug store and bought Plan B and took it as directed. Since then, I have had two regular periods. Right now, I'm about due for my next period but I've been reading other pages online that say that you can have two periods and still be pregnant. My breasts are sore, which is a usual PMS symptom for me, but I'm worried about my weight. I have been depressed lately so I could be eating more than usual (or not eating the right foods), but I'm worried. Am I getting paranoid or could I be pregnant?

Hi Anon,

If you have had two periods since you had unprotected sex then you are not pregnant. Many people have been believing that it is possible to have a period during pregnancy when in fact it is not possible. It is possible to bleed during pregnancy but it is either due to a miscarriage or some type of uterine bleeding, not your period. Two regular periods would indicate that you are not pregnant.

Best Wishes,

Rosa
