Guide

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
If a tubal ligation fails and you become pregnant (which is possible) you are at a great risk of getting an ectopic pregnancy. These highly dangerous because the egg implants in the fallopian tubes, then the tube eventually ruptures and can be fatal.
So, I highly suggest you get a pap smear and an ultrasound to make sure you are not experiencing an ectopic pregnancy. Years after a tubal ligation, the fallopian tubes can repair themselves to allow an egg on a rare occasion to travel all the way to the uterus. A gynecologist can also assess the condition of the fallopian tubes in an ultrasound.
If your period is not late due to pregnancy, there are many other possible reasons.
Below I have pasted a link to an article that talks about the many possibilities in detail.
