Can PID give you a false positive pregnacy test?

I have PID I went to the dr and had a pregnacy test and it was negative. 5 days later I took another one but the lines said positive. I have had very irregular periods for a long time. What do you think it may be?

I went to the ER and they diagnosed me with PID, But here's the thing I took two pregnancy test and they both came out positive. I really need help on what's going on.

Dear Anonymous,

PID does not cause a false positive result. If you have taken a pregnancy test that results in positive, please see your doctor to verify that you are pregnant.
