I started birth control on August 7th. My doctor just put me on it.. It didnt follow my packs plan, I was days behind.. I didnt even finish the pack, theres 2 active pills left. I havent had my perid yet, and I am a week late. I went to a clinic and I tested negative for pregnancy. My symptoms are cramping, dizziness, some neausea, super sore breasts, and I just feel really run down.. I am usually very regular. I need help...

Hi Anon,

If your pregnancy test was negative then you are likely late due to following your pack incorrectly. Usually, with birth control pills, you'll take 3 weeks of active pills and 1 week of inactive pills. During the week that you're on the inactive pills you will have your period (or withdrawal bleeding). In your case, your body is probably confused because you missed pills here and there, but it sounds as though you may be getting your period soon. If you are still taking active pills stop and move on to your placebo week. Then once you're done with those continue on your new pack and set a reminder so that you don't forget to take your pills.

Best Wishes,

Rosa
