Q:

Constant urge

After urinating I seem to have constant impulses that I still have to go. If I ignore the urge it will subside after a while, but after I do go it all starts anew. Is this a sign of infection, or just a bladder electrical impulse issue?

Hi Anonymous,
What you are explaining sounds very common for a urinary tract infection. You may want to make an appointment with your primary care physician. Do you have any burning sensation when you urinate? This is another common sign. If you have a UTI and are not treated for it, it can move into your kidneys and cause further pain. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment now before it gets any worse.

I hope this helps. Please keep us posted.

No pain, discomfort, or trouble going, just need to go often and the weird sensation that follows. It's almost time for my annual exam anyway, so I will ask about this when I see the doc. I've had UTI's before (a long time ago), and this feels entirely different. I'll get it checked out though.

Thanks for the feedback.
