I am 52 years old. For last 1 year I have not have my periods. Now I am having dark brown spotting with uneasiness in my lower abdomen.

You have reached menopause because it has been 12 consecutive months without a period.
However, the dark brown discharge and lower abdominal uneasiness raises a question and poses a concern.
Were you ever diagnosed with uterine fibroids? If so, the discharge and uneasiness could be the result of a fibroid degenerating or breaking down.
If not, please consult your gynecologist, who may chose to have you schedule a pelvic exam.
