Does anyone know of anything to help the oral ulcers, other than steroids?

Thank you for your question! 

There are many reasons for mouth ulcers and many treatments too. 

You can help treat them by

gargling with salt

increasing your B vitamin intake (B12 and B6 specifically)

milk of magnesia is often used for stomach ulcers but you can use it for mouth ulcers too - dab it generously on your ulcer. 

You can also use an antimicrobial mouthwash that can help. 

Sometimes a topical painkiller can help in healing because it can help to stop you licking them, running your tongue over them (to try to relive discomfort). They may cause some numbness but it might be worth it until you heal.
